HRCM issues report on K. Himmafushi Drug Rehabilitation Center

Following a monitoring visit to the K. Himmafushi Drug Rehabilitation Center on 06 march 2008, in order to inspect the quality of treatment administered on patients at the center, the nature and type of care given to the patients seeking treatment as well as to examine the physical conditions and cleanliness of the institution, the HRCM team has publicized a report.
K Maafushi Jail Visit

The Human Rights Commission visited the Maafushi Jail on 8th December 2007 for an inspection. The main purpose of this unannounced inspection was to assess the general conditions of the Jail and to review the newly constructed prison cells of the new wing.
Children's Care Visit

The Human Rights Commission undertook an inspection visit to Kudakudhinge Hiyaa in K. Villingili on 1st August 2007. During this visit the commission examined the physical structure of the centre and interviewed some of the residents of the centre as well as the administrators in order to assess the general conditions of the centre.
Guraiodhoo Visit

The Human Rights Commission undertook an inspection visit to Home for People with Special Needs (Dhaulathge Khaasa Ehee ah Beynunvaa Meehunge Marukazu) in K. Guraodhoo on 28th November 2007. The main purpose of this inspection was to follow up on a previous visit on December 2006 and to evaluate possible implementation of prior recommendations proposed by the commission.
