HRCM Commences Training Program for Police Custodial Officers

The Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) has commenced a training program for police custodial officers in Dhoonidhoo today. With an estimated 200 participants from the Police Custodial Department, it will be facilitated by Commission members and Staff. The program aimed at MPS officers working in Dhoonidhoo and Atholhuvehi (Male’) detention facilities will continue for another three days.
With an objective of creating human rights awareness amongst officers, the participants will be informed about human rights, use of force, UDHR, UN Convention against Torture, Human Rights in Islam and the HRCM.
