US Assistant Secretary Meets the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives

United States Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Mr. Robert O. Blake, Jr., has met with the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives.

At the meeting held on Thursday in the commission office, Blake discussed the current political situation in the Maldives and the contribution of HRCM to resolve the political deadlock. In addition to this, various issues relating to the human rights situation in Maldives; such as civil and political rights and the rights of migrant workers were discussed.

President of HRCM Mr.Ahmed Saleem updated the US Assistant Secretary on the existing political climate of the country and how the impasse could be resolved through dialogue.
