Human Rights Commission of the Maldives

Majida Majdy


Ms Majida Majdy was appointed as a member of the Human Rights Commission on 27th December 2007. She read Law at the Russian Peoples' Friendship University in Moscow from 1997 to 2002.

After completing her Masters Degree specializing in International Law in 2004 at the same University, she returned to the Maldives and joined the Attorney General's Office (AGO) as a State Attorney.

In that capacity, she was prosecuting on behalf of the State and also involved in the formulation of charges against accused parties.

During her term of employment at the AGO she also participated in several legal reform projects and participated in several international conferences and seminars on legal issues.
